September is full of the Fall Feasts, so we have many opportunities to wear our colors.  They are as follows:

September 5th (Saturday) 7PM....DEBORAH KLINE-IANTORNO  & VINCE IANTORNO in concert at Beth Emanuel (Address below) YES! There will be dancing!!! 

September 10th (Thursday) 10am-11am....Chris Ridge Senior Living (6250 N. 19th Ave. Phx.) Dance & minister with Cathy Wilson of Chosen People....Please wear blue, white, silver....any combination to honor Israel. 

September 17th (Thursday) 7:30pm....Vi at Grayhawk Senior Living (7501 E. Thompson Peak Pkwy, Scottsdale)....This is our first invitation at this venue with Cathy Wilson. Please come to dance practices if you wish to attend this event.   It will be more formal than other events we have done and we hope to make a good first impression! Colors will be blue, white, silver....any combination.

November 10th (Tuesday)...Double-Header! Dance Presentation & Workshop at Scottsdale Bible Church 10am followed by dancing at Sierra Pointe Retirement Community 12:30pm-2pm. Both events with Cathy Wilson of Chosen People. More details next month. Colors will be blue, white, silver....any combination.

First fan veil class

Last Sunday was our first fan veil class and it was a blast!  Everyone did a fantastic job, we learned a few moves and discussed some things we might want to incorporate into our dance for Chanukah.  I apologize for not being better prepared, only 3 hours of sleep the night before didn't help!  For a good short video about using fan veils go to www.joyofbellydancing.com, click on Youtube videos and find the one that is titled lesson 2.  Hope to see everyone back in 2 weeks!

Mark your calendars for next Sun. 7/5 for our first fan veil class!  Location is St. Matthew, time is 2:00-3:00.   Fan veils are in and I will be bringing them to Beth Emanuel July 3rd.  See everyone then!

Fan veil class

Starting the first Sunday in July I will be teaching a fan veil class at St. Matthew's,  I will  be teaching the third Sunday of the month also.  Class will be held from 2:00-3:00 and will continue at least through Dec.    I have already placed an order for the fan veils but can order again if someone decides they would like to participate.  Contact me at dennybrns@yahoo.com or 480-892-9886 for more information.  Come join us while we worship with these beautiful props.

No service at Beth Emanuel

Just a reminder that there will be no service at Beth Emanuel next Friday night (4/3).  Instead there will be Seders held at different houses, this is a departure from the one large Seder usually held at Beth Emanuel.

Please note that the colors for the remainder of March and for April 11th will be RED AND WHITE due to the upcoming Passover holiday.  

 

We will be doing special dances every Friday evening, which we will learn at our Thursday night dance practices.  

 

At the Friday night service on March 27th we will wear all white with red sashes and use red finger scarves.  I will provide some of the sashes and scarves.  Lura will explain more on Thursday night.

Changes to dance schedule for Feb.!

Dear Dancers,

Sorry to add to your inbox so soon with another email from me. However, there is an important time change that has come up and it was necessary that I make everyone aware so there is no disappointment.

WHAT?...  The next three Sunday practices (February 8th, 15th & 22nd) will be from 2PM-5PM.  Please especially note the earlier ending time. 

WHY?... Some of you are aware that many of us dancers have also joined a wonderful tambourine group. (By the way, we'd love to have you join us on Monday nights at 7:30pm-9:00pm at St. Matthew's Room C1...Red door off the playground.) The Victory Tambourines, as the group is named, is scheduled to march in the Lost Dutchman's Days Parade in Apache Junction on February 28th.  So in preparation, we are planning to practice our marching skills in the St. Matthew's parking lot on the above Sundays from 5:00pm-6:00pm while it is still daylight. So, we hope you will understand and know that this is a temporary change just for the above stated Sundays.

ONE MORE THING!

I failed to mention in the recent February schedule another 'save-the-date' event.  It is March 5th (Thursday) from 10AM-11AM at Chris Ridge Senior Living in Phoenix. Cathy Wilson of Chosen People will be presenting a Purim (Story of Esther) program and we will be.....dancing! This is always a joyous event and another opportunity to be blessed and be a blessing!
